It is so easy to fall in love with Estonian group, Ewert and the Two Dragons. In fact, we enjoyed listening to them so much we just had to have them play at our Culture Collide last year! Now they're coming back to the states in support of the US release of their second album, Good Man Down, on June 25 via Sire/ADA.

Psychedelic/electronic duo, AM & Shawn Lee, are the masters of making hot and intoxicating hits that take you from the dance floor to the bedroom in just a matter of minutes.
"Good Blood," featured on the pair's latest release, La Musique Numérique, is a good example of this, with AM's silky smooth voice and undeniably catchy "woo hoo hoo"s, hand claps, tantalizing basslines and electronic soul adroitly woven throughout.

It niggles a bit. Here it is, 13 years into a new century, and Sigur Rós, one of the most revolutionary forces of the aural cause are, well, releasing an…album. OK, perhaps it was too much to hope that they would transcend all banal notions of the music-go-round by, say, founding their own religion or nation state. That said, the curious dichotomy of Sigur Rós has been that their life-altering live performances often seemed more akin to the ZOSO mysticism of Led Zeppelin than the enveloping enigma of their own recorded output. Seven days, one thousand artists, sixty venues across the city... FILTER headed out to Toronto for the 19th year of NXNE to experience all the bands, brews and bons moments we could fit into a 24-hour day, and we weren't disppointed. It's been a solid decade since we first heard The Dandy Warhols' infectious track, "We Used to Be Friends," sung by frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor. These days, Taylor-Taylor is lending his vocals to an alt-country project dubbed Thriftstore Masterpiece—featuring additional artists like Pete Yorn, Isaac Brock, Kristin Blix and more—produced by Charles Normal (the dignified gentleman in a suit and fur cap pictured above).
