Dream-pop producer Mauro Remiddi (aka Porcelain Raft) is set to release the follow-up to 2012’s Strange Weekend on August 20th via Secretly Canadian. Entitled Permanent Signal, a reference to the “condition in which a phone line is off-hook without connection for an extended period of time,” Remiddi’s sophomore release promises a new sound, which can be heard on first single “Think Of The Ocean,” a spacious, melancholic track.

We are beyond thrilled to share that after three long years since Subiza, Barcelona quartet Delorean has a new album in the works.


According to the video—with 90 seconds of new audio as well as dancing dots and floating suds—it appears that Delorean’s new album is cryptically titled APAR. Though no release date has been announced yet, you can watch the preview for APAR above and join us in our anticipation for more information on the dance-pop outfit’s forthcoming release.

Yesterday, we celebrated Paul McCartney's 71st birthday, but little did we know that The Beatles had a present for us this week. The Richard Lester-directed classic, HELP!, starring the Fab Four themselves, is available on Blu-ray next Tuesday, June 25, and now you have a chance to win a copy!



Not only are all seven Beatles hits from side one of the Help! vinyl featured throughout the film—such as "Ticket To Ride," "I Need You" and of course the album's title track—but this special edition also includes outtakes and behind-the-scenes footage, original trailers that aired in 1965, a documentary with Lester about the making of the film and loads more.

It seemed, to us, that the Arctic Monkeys were on a perpetual tour--headlining festivals and selling out arenas--since the 2011 release of Suck It and See, but today the Sheffield group proved that they still had a few musical tricks up their sleeve by releasing a new track and official video that you can watch above.

 

"Do I Wanna Know?" is a four-and-a-half minute dive back into the seductive and heavy world of Alex Turner and co. With a simple, but lasting guitar riff on top of a steady bass drum beat, the track features Turner singing about lust and longing; two lyrical staples in his cannon at this point.

The lead single, “Home,” from Toronto-based Austra’s sophomore album Olympia is an aching and concentrated piano-driven piece of pop music melodrama, with lead vocalist Katie Stelmanis lamenting, “You know that it hurts me when you don’t come home at night.” It’s both rare and refreshing to hear such a direct and bullshit-free lyric, and this record is loaded with them, like on the pulsating “Forgive Me,” where Stelmanis repeats, “What do I have to do to make you forgive me?” Olympia quite successfully fuses layers and layers of snips, snaps and electro slaps with Stelmanis’ bizarre and beautiful vocals.
