Milo Greene - CHOP SHOP/ATLANTIC

Quiet and crisp, Milo Greene (five people, not one) keeps it simple. With enchanting sounds that mix elements of Fleet Foxes with Band of Horses, Milo Greene has a familiar ’70s Laurel Canyon–esque vibe that fits nicely in the Los Angeles indie-folk scene. There are some high watermarks (“1957”), but also some slow and drawn-out bits. It’s not easy for a debut to be transcendent, but this is certainly a step towards the light.
