The debut single off Letting Up Despite Great Faults’ Paper Crush EP was aptly titled “Teenage Tide.” Frontman Mike Lee creates sexy and wistful synth-pop and his hand-on-heart ’80s balladry largely works on his Austin group’s sophomore effort, Untogether. Lee’s processed vocals are capably joined on some tracks by keyboardist Annah Fisette, and their toothsome choruses are propelled by a dreamy backing band. Girls and boys with severe cases of heartache should seek out this album.
