At a time when rock music was coming into its own, Kris Kristofferson composed the first of many songs that would become hits for other artists. On this album of demos, fans can listen to songs such as “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Come Sundown” in their original form with Kristofferson’s monotone vocals leading the way. Although these songs became synonymous with other singers, one can only wonder what might have been if Kristofferson had kept them all for himself. DANIEL KOHN
