Brazil’s hyperkinetic Bonde do Rolê and producer/boss Diplo take a step back from their bracing baile-funk and find bliss. There’s still haste and saucy, wasted vocals; the band rushes around the rosy (the meth-y “Kilo”; the drop-hop of “Bang”). “Baile Punk” is harried (isn’t anything featuring hip-hardcore heads The Death Set?) and self-explanatory. But they take it slow (thanks to album production from Poolside’s Filip Nikolic) during the simmer of “Baby Don’t Deny It,” with tropicalia legend Caetano Veloso. More of that, please.
