It's 2012, and we're kicked in full gear. We're preparing our ears for some of the most highly anticipated musical experiences of the season. FILTER decided to help you out with getting to know who will bring the buzz SXSW 2012, and we're predicting you'll be praising these picks by the end of the extravaganza in Austin.
120 Days comes to us by ways of Kristiansund, on the north-westcoast of Norway. The band uses “the hard minimalist industrial sound of Detroit Techno" and mixes it up with "the transcendental drone jazz of (early) Alice Coltrane, and the over-the-top orchestral maximalism of Wagnerian opera,” they claim rather magnificently. All in all, 120 Days carries some dense textures, letting there be some wiggle-room for fans with various tastes. Check out the Norwegian band below.

From posting up on "taco tuesday" and playing at a last minute house party, FIDLAR does it right with their do-it-up attitude. These Los Angeles natives keep it grimey with their straight up chaotic garage rock, and fans love it. Once you see the band live, consider yourself conquered. Check out their tracks below.
Adam Olenius (Shout Out Louds) and Markus Krunegard are Serenades, two of the most respected contemporary songwriters in Sweden. The two create a sound together, their "third voice," all the while maintaining their own particular nuances that are unmistakable. The duo's debut release, the Come Home EP, came out last year via Cherrytree Records, carrying a light mood and nostalgic sentiment, ultimately cutting mark and classifying the EP as dreamy music.
