Reykjavik Calling Comes To NYC
By Staff on September 20, 2013
Next month, we’re collaborating with Iceland Airwaves to present Reykjavik Calling, bringing you some of the best new acts all the way from Iceland to New York City! A part of the annual Taste of Iceland, a festival celebrating Icelandic food, music, and culture, Reykjavik Calling makes its first trip to NYC this year, and we know you’ll want to be there for the maiden voyage.
Join us on October 5th at Le Poisson Rouge and channel your inner Bjork with some of Iceland’s coolest up-and-comers. Performers include singer/songwriter Snorri Helgason, pop songstress Lara Runars, and electro-pop outfit Syker. Also performing are New Yorkers Petter Ericson Stakee of Alberta Cross and a special DJ set from Caveman, fresh off a win to play the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival in November.
Past Reykjavik Calling performers include indie-pop powerhouses Of Monsters and Men and Soley, so this could be your chance to see the next big thing from the north. And best of all, it’s free! The event is 18+, with doors opening at 6 PM. For more information, visit the Le Poisson Rouge website. See you there!
