RECAP: FIDLAR Heats Up Underground Mammoth For FILTER’s February First Friday

After weeks of warmer temperatures and blue skies, the heavens finally decided to shower Mammoth Mountain with a ton of fresh (and incredibly cold) powder. Out came the snow suits, thermal underwear, goggles, boots and gloves. So many different types of gloves...
It was in this wintery renaissance that Mammoth's intimate club hosted a packed crowd to see the SoCal hell-raisers better known as FIDLAR.
The garage-punk foursome--consisting of Zac Carper, Brandon Schwartzel and brothers Elvis and Max Kuehn--shredded through 17 tracks from their self-titled debut full length and EPs only pausing briefly to ask if the crowd was feeling alright, which was met with the standard crowd chaotic scream-woo combo.
With the audience in place, fed and loose, FIDLAR brought the high energy and stacked setlist (which included fan favorites "Cheap Beer," "Cocaine," "Whore" and "Max Can't Surf") fit for a major festival slot to the icy Northern California town and a crowd that knew how lucky they were to be there.
Next month Deap Vally will grace the Underground Mammoth stage for another FILTER First Friday that will benefit our good friends at Boarding For Breast Cancer (B4BC). If you see us, come say hi...we'll be the ones trying to find one of our gloves at the end of the night.
