OBSESSIVE COMPULSIONS: FILTER’s Weekly Picks Featuring Portugal The Man, Daft Punk + A Crying Baby

FILTER likes music. There's no hiding it. We also like our own opinions a whole bunch, so once a week we give the masses a fleeting glimpse into our selective stereos and Internet browsers to let them see firsthand what fuels our endless devotion. We like to think of it as community service. We're selfless like that. So without further ado, here are the official, inarguable, objectively good FILTER Weekly Picks—providing everything from new LPs you should be spinning to the latest good-fer-you videos. Yeah, we're good at what we do:

Portugal the Man @ Coachella

Why: Amazing set. -- Alan Sartirana

Daft Punk -- "Get Lucky"

Why: Just play and repeat, then repeat again. And again. Can't wait for the album! -- Alyssa Jones

Why: Three times in 2013, this rad happening will close down a major artery of Los Angeles to cars in favor of giving the bikers, skaters, rollerbladers, joggers and strollers the right of way... Yesterday's CicLAvia featured a 13-mile march from downtown to the sea on Venice Boulevard. -- Pat McGuire

Portugal. the Man -- "Purple Yellow Red and Blue"

Why: Portugal. the Man, Danger Mouse and Haim? Can't have too much of a good thing. -- Angelica Corona

Ólafur Arnalds performing his new album For Now I Am Winter with a full orchestra at Le Poisson Rouge.

Why: I've seen Ólafur play live a few times including in his home country of Iceland, but this performance last week was truly magical. -- Mike Bell

Reasons Why My Son Is Crying

Why: There is no better use of the ease of digital photography and the glory that is the internet (and more specifically Tumblr) than to embarrass your child about 15 years before they hate you for it. Reasons Why My Son Is Crying has got the amazing gems that remind everyone why parenting is hard no matter how great of a Dad or Mom you are. Like this one: "We gave him delicious pudding." Perfection. -- Bailey Pennick
