OBSESSIVE COMPULSIONS: FILTER’s Weekly Picks Featuring Lunchables, “The Newsroom” And More

FILTER likes music. There's no hiding it. We also like our own opinions a whole bunch, so once a week we give the masses a fleeting glimpse into our selective stereos and Internet browsers to let them see firsthand what fuels our endless devotion. We like to think of it as community service. We're selfless like that. So without further ado, here are the official, inarguable, objectively good FILTER Weekly Picks—providing everything from new LPs you should be spinning to the latest good-fer-you videos. Yeah, we're good at what we do:

Pizza Lunchables

Why: Because being in your mid 20s means eating all the stuff your parents wouldn't ever let you have.—Breanna Murphy

Stephen Eichhorn

Why: Stephen Eichhorn is a Chicago-based artist with unmistakable style. He is best known for his delicate hand cut collages featuring orchids, succulents and other foliage. I just (gulp) purchased my first two pieces of "grown up" art from Stephen while I can still afford it. -- Monique Gilbert

Neckbeard Telecaster

Why: This band features members of various Brooklyn bands you've probably heard of. They've been popping up around NYC for the past half decade and somehow they managed to release their debut album and video today. -- Mike Bell

Phoenix -- "Entertainment"

Why: They're back! -- Alan Sartirana

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' performances on SNL

Why: Michael Jackson fringe on the shoulders, and a rubber tshirt. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis destroyed the SNL stage. -- Evan Pierri

The Newsroom panel at PaleyFest

Why: I attended The Newsroom panel at the PaleyFest last night in Los Angeles. Aaron Sorkin and the cast (including Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Olivia Munn and Sam Waterston) spoke with CNN's Piers Morgan about the forthcoming second season (including an exclusive 10-minute clip) and highlights from the first season. Of foremost interest was that Sorkin writes with specific songs in mind for the action (including the epic 7-minute Coldplay "Fix You" montage from the fourth episode "I'll Try to Fix You"). No word on whether he planned Radiohead's "High and Dry" for the second episode. -- Pat McGuire

Choco Taco

Why: It combines my favorite loves of ice cream cones and mexican food. Case closed in the search for the greatest dessert/hybrid food ever. -- Bailey Pennick
