OBSESSIVE COMPULSIONS: FILTER’s Weekly Picks Featuring Culture Collide NYC, Banksy + More

FILTER likes music. There's no hiding it. We also like our own opinions a whole bunch, so once a week we give the masses a fleeting glimpse into our selective stereos and Internet browsers to let them see firsthand what fuels our endless devotion. We like to think of it as community service. We're selfless like that. So without further ado, here are the official, inarguable, objectively good FILTER Weekly Picks—providing everything from new LPs you should be spinning to the latest good-fer-you videos. Yeah, we're good at what we do:

Culture Collide NYC

Why: I had an amazing time this past week in LA and looking forward to keeping the party going in NYC. http://ccnyc.filtermagazine.com -- Mike Bell

-- Alan Sartirana

Terry Poison

Why: I only caught a tiny bit of their performance at Culture Collide. Definitely left me wanting more. -- Monique Gilbert

DJ: Covntry Clvb
Song: Notorious BIG x Slow Magic - Dead Wrong Youth Group

Why: Not pleased about the end of the weekend? This will help. One of the best mashups I've heard in a while brought to you by LA based DJ Covntry Clvb by way of Biggie and Slow Magic. -- Sarah Chavey

Banksy in NYC

Why: I hope the lucky trio who bought original Banksys for $60 apiece in Central Park yesterday keep them forever. --Pat McGuire

Absolute Radio '90s

Why: If your ears perked up - as mine did - when it was announced that Primal Scream would be closing out Culture Collide by hosting a DJ set, you may also enjoy Absolute Radio 90s, the UK's only all 1990s station featuring tons of BritPop, as well as American alaternative with a few US pop-radio hits thrown in, plus you'll also catch the latest traffic and travel reports straight outta London once every hour! -- Jacklyn Arding
