MGMT To Release New Album

Grammy nominees MGMT will release Congratulations!, a follow-up to Oracular Spectacular, April 13 via Columbia. Spacemen 3's Peter "Sonic Boom" Kember produced the album, and Dave Fridmann mixed, while Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux/RTX guests.

In an interview with Spin, band member Andrew Vanwyndgarden said, "There's a surfing thread throughout the record," he explained, citing another new song, called "It's Working." "When you're surfing, there's a specific break you're paddling to. And when the waves are really good you say, 'It's working.' The song kind of has a surf-y vibe. It's like surfing on ecstasy!
