LOOK: The National Announces Sixth LP “Trouble Will Find Me”; Shares Tracklist + Tour

Brooklyn-based indie rockers The National announced that their sixth studio album, Trouble Will Find Me, is due out on May 21 through 4AD. Trouble Will Find Me is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2010’s critically acclaimed High Violet.

After spending 22 months on the road supporting High Violet, guitarist Aaron Dessner began writing songs, which held so much promise that the rest of the band decided to forego taking time off to record again. According to frontman Matt Berninger, the material off Trouble Will Find Me is more “immediate and visceral” than their previous work. Though they have yet to release a single, they did share the album’s 13-song tracklist and confusing, creepy artwork, which you can find below.

The National will support Trouble Will Find Me with an extensive tour, including an appearance at this summer’s Bonnaroo festival. If you’re anxious like us and can’t wait until the tour kicks off in May, The National will premiere their documentary Mistaken for Strangers at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 17. Directed by Berninger’s younger brother Tom, the film follows the band on their High Violet tour. Be sure to check it out and see below for the band's tour dates.
