LOOK: The Great Gatsby Soundtrack In Gold And Platinum Vinyls
By Staff on May 8, 2013
Just as Baz Luhrman's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, The Great Gatsby, hits the silver screen this Friday, Third Man Records presents the film's soundtrack in gold and platinum.
We were already excited to hear they would be releasing the vinyl version, but now they're taking it up a notch by providing it in a never-before-seen metallic disc! Pre-sale for this innovative record will start on May 10—the standard edition double album isn't available until June 11—to coincide with the release of the film.
Honestly, we can't get over how amazing these LPs look! Both records are the first of their kind to be commercially available. On top of the gold and platinum discs, the record jackets are unique laser-cut wood sleeves with aluminum spines. Everything together evokes the Art Deco extravagance of The Great Gatsby film!
Pre-sales will be available starting 9 a.m. on May 10. There will be a limited number of this unique set, so be sure to order yours on the Third Man Records website! The first 100 physical copies will also be available that same day at the Third Man retail store in Nashville at 10 a.m.
