LOOK: The Antlers, Chairlift And Planetarium Added To LA Phil’s Brooklyn Festival In April
By Staff on January 7, 2013
What's the best way to celebrate the passing of Tax Day? Most years, we don't have a solid answer for you, but we know just the thing come this April 16 through April 22: the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Brooklyn Festival.
There's no doubt that some of the best tunes to date have origins in Brooklyn, so now is the time to celebrate our east coast musical brethren and sistren by hosting a festival in their honor.
Musicians that we constantly have on rotation have just been added to the festival: The Antlers, Chairlift, Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner (The National), and Nico Muhly—the latter three performing their grand, cosmos-themed composition, "Planetarium." For an introduction to "Planetarium," check out a clip entitled "Jupiter," below.
Tickets for these newly added performances go on sale this Saturday, January 12, at 10 a.m. For more information on Chairlift and The Antlers, click here. For details on "Planetarium," click here.
