LOOK: Norway’s Heyerdahl Invading America Soon, Starting With NYC And SXSW

Named for the famous Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl, the band Heyerdahl is a foursome native to Oslo, Norway. The band recorded their album, Øen, with the imagery of Norway's folklore in mind. While recording the album, the group thought of themselves as explorers by navigating the ocean, storm, and weather in the ancient stories of their country. The result is lyrics that tell mythical stories and a wonderfully atmospheric quality to their sound.

For the first time, Heyerdahl will be playing shows in the United States, bringing their heritage and synth-pop-rock to New York and SXSW.

Their adventure begins in New York City on March 8th and 9th. Then they'll be playing SXSW, including Saturday afternoon at our Showdown on Cedar Street Showcase! If you see Heyerdahl live, give them a warm welcome to America!

Check out their track "Mirage" below and jump down further for the details on their live shows!
