LOOK: DJ Shadow Gets An Apology From Miami Nightclub Shutting Him Down
By Staff on December 21, 2012
Okay we get it, Miami nightclubs are not supposed to be known for their good music and great sense of judgement, but when we heard that the Mansion Nightclub booked DJ Shadow for a gig, we thought we were proven wrong. That was until, of course, we heard that the club's promoter believed that Shadow's set was "too futuristic" and forced him off the stage.
You can only image the sold-out crowd's rage and confusion when the deck master who was closing out his "All Basses Covered" tour was given the boot! Thankfully, the Mansion Nightclub has come to their senses and issued this apology:
"We offer our most sincere apologies to DJ Shadow and his fans for his set being cut short at Mansion this past weekend. This error should not have happened and will not happen again, especially as we pride ourselves on creating an environment that cultivates and respects innovators such as DJ Shadow. We have learned a lot from this error and made changes within our organization to ensure that Mansion’s vision, and the vision of our guests, will never be compromised again."
Here's to 2013 being better for "futuristic" music!
