Thousands of people headed toward the bay area to enjoy the annual Treasure Island Festival this past weekend. Though the weather proved to be very chilly, the impressive line-up that included Atoms For Peace, Beck, Phantogram and so many more was enough to keep the crowds warm.
Saturday definitely proved to be a full day dance party as crowds swarmed to watch electronic and dance acts like Holy Ghost!, Disclosure and Major Lazer. Phantogram unleased some of their new material onto the crowd, drawing in new and old fans alike with electro-rock sounds and a gorgeous set that was perfect for closing the Tunnel Stage. Atoms For Peace fans braved through the cold to watch the Thom Yorke fronted band power through tracks from AMOK.
The second day brought out the rock fans for shows that were more into good ole guitars than synths. The dynamic Palma Violets played a riotous show that kickstarted the afternoon. A huge crowd waited for the buzzed about sister-trio, HAIM, who showed the Bay Area crowd what the San Fernando Valley can do.
The rest of Sunday kept the fearless crowd moving: Sleigh Bells put on an energetic show while James Blake's lights were utterly mind-blowing. Yet there was no better way to end the two-day festival than with the always amazing Beck who pulled out all the stops (even a fun collaboration with Sleigh Bells) to cap the weekend.
