Joseph Arthur Paints for Haiti

Creative force Joseph Arthur has just announced that he will once again be taking his paintbrushes and canvas on the road with him. The multi-talented singer-songwriter will be painting live on stage throughout the West Coast portion of the tour, and what’s more: these paintings will be available for purchase at the end of each show, with 100% of the proceeds donated directly to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.

The paintings will be sold immediately after the performance in a “make an offer” system, with a minimum bid of $500. Seven paintings have just been sold in Seattle and Portland, with Arthur having to create even more artwork backstage to keep up with the demand.

Arthur’s paintings will be exhibited this year at Sundance, and Peter Gabriel hails Arthur's work as exhibiting “strength and a visceral quality,” connecting  “Expressionism, Art Brut, Basquiat and the Graffiti movement.”

Joseph will playing, and painting, at the Troubadour in L.A. on Friday and Saturday night. A full list of tourdates is available on the Joseph Arthur official website, and you can check out his artwork over at The Museum of Modern Arthur.
