First Impressions:
-Two Thousand and Ten Injuries kicks off straight away with the feel-good track “Bigger Bolder.” It’s an upbeat number, complete with horns, hooks and a sound that you can’t help but move to. Alongside Josephine Olausson’s charismatic vocals, it sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the album; frantic, yet tight, and carefully constructed.
-“Less Than Thrilled,” “Early Warnings” and “Kungen” are just a few of the stand out tracks, full of “Ba-Ba-Ba’s”, and snappy guitar. Catchy, fun and building in momentum throughout, these are quite simply pop-punk gems.
-The record does calm down at several points; the band show a softer side in tracks such as "Never Now" and "A Side in a Bed," where amongst subtle saxophone tones, Olausson sings, "I want a seat by a table/ I want a side in a bed.../ I want a place in somebody's head."
-After picking things up again with the zippy number “Dust,” the band close with the most experimental and quite sweet final track, “Take Your Time.” The sound is a little different from the rest of the album, but still encompasses that new wave-esque sound and punk-rock rhythm that makes them what they are.
Key Tracks:
“Bigger Bolder,” “Less Than Thrilled,” “Early Warnings,” “A Side in a Bed”
Predictions:
Love Is All has kept in similar style to its two previous albums, with no drastic changes to the sound - but that is not a bad thing. Two Thousand and Ten Injuries is a well-balanced album, jam packed full of short, snappy tracks that leave you wanting more.
