FILTER’s Top 10 of 2013: Nathan Willett and Matt Maust, of Cold War Kids

When it comes to end-of-year lists, it's definitely not all about us; we love to know what our favorite musicians and artists have been digging the most out of 2013, too, and we're thrilled to share those lists here.

Cold War Kids released their fourth album Dear Miss Lonelyhearts in April. Singer Nathan Willett and bassist Matt Maust sent us a few of their favorite songs and albums of the year. Check them out below.

Nathan Willett's Top 5 of 2013

1. King Krule, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon

"The brain lives on, but the vibes are dead"

2. Clinic, Free Reign II

3. Fiona Apple & Blake Mills tour

"I walked by their show at Beacon Theater in NYC on the same night and time as our show at Terminal 5. Thought about doing an Axl Rose move; show up a couple hours late to our show, get the crowd into a frenzy, but got too nervous."

4. Beck, "Defriended"

"I have way high hopes for this new album he is working on."

5. Blur, "Under the Westway" (Parklive version)

"Sounds like the Olympics."

Matt Maust's Top 5 of 2013

1. Savages, Silence Yourself

2. Bob Dylan, Tempest

3. Anna Calvi, One Breath

4. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds,  Push the Sky Away

5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Mosquito
