FILTER’s Top 10 of 2013: John Darnielle, of The Mountain Goats

When it comes to end-of-year lists, it's definitely not all about us; we love to know what our favorite musicians and artists have been digging the most out of 2013, too, and we're thrilled to share those lists here.

We sadly didn't hear too much from John Darnielle this year (other than a reissue of The Mountain Goats' All Hail West Texas) after the Goats released the excellent Transcendental Youth in 2012 (though Darnielle's bandmate Jon Wurster sure kept busy)...which is why we're thrilled Darnielle popped in at the end of the year to give us his favorite records of 2013. Check out his picks below and why not spin a couple in the interim while we wait not-so-patiently for a new Mountain Goats LP?
