FILTER’s Top 10 of 2012: Staff Picks

December is upon us, which can only mean one thing here at FILTER: it’s time again for us (and everybody else) to reflect upon our favorite albums of the year. As much music comes across our desks in a whole year, it’s remarkable (and exhausting!) to stand back and look at it all at the end of it. We've taken on the challenge of sifting through the massive amount of quality tunes from the years’ new releases to find the good, the better and the best, to proudly announce not one, but two end-of-year lists. Below, you will find our Staff Picks of the Top 10 Albums of 2012, as well as members' individual picks that contributed to the final 10. In addition, we also collected the magazine's Top 25 Reviewed Records of 2012.

It's been yet another great year in music and below, you'll find just a small collection of that: debut records, solo releases, anticipated sophomore releases, familiar faces, English alt-folk and Canadian art-rock standing next to Swedish synth-pop and American hip-hop…it's been quite a 2012.

So, without further ado...
