FILTER’s Top 10 of 2011: Brett Anderson, of Suede

It was a pretty big year for British rock outfit Suede. In 2010, the band reformed with its second incarnation lineup of Brett Anderson, Neil Codling, Simon Gilbert, Richard Oakes and Mat Osman, but it wasn't until 2011 the band made it Stateside, also reissuing and remastering tracks for the band's highly anticipated Best Of. We featured a tribute in issue 43, and featured a week-long online exclusive of the article (which you should definitely visit—or revisit). To cap it all off, lead singer Brett Anderson broke down his favorites of 2011, including some dark electronics from Cold Cave and The Kills, as well as Horrors side project Cat's Eyes.

Brett Anderson's Picks

1. The Horrors, Skying (XL)

2. Björk, Biophilia (ONE LITTLE INDIAN)

3. Kate Bush, 50 Words For Snow (EMI)

4. Wild Beasts, Smother (DOMINO)

5. Cold Cave, Cherish The Light Years (MATADOR)

6. Cat's Eyes, Cat's Eyes (POLYDOR/DOWNTOWN/COOPERATIVE)
