It's December, which could only mean one thing: Top 10 lists. FILTER has taken this end-of-the-year sacrament to the extreme with its Top 10 of 2009 series. Each day this month, FILTER is presenting lists of the best albums of the year from not only its staff members, but also exclusive guest artists.
Joining us as one of today's guest artists is Scott Kirkland, one-half of the LA-based electronic duo The Crystal Method. After the release of its 2004 album Legion of Boom, Crystal Method began construction on Crystalwerks—a new, full-sized recording studio—in Los Angeles. There, Kirkland and bandmate Ken Jordan recorded Divided by Night, which was released last May and featured several high-profile guest artists, such as Peter Hook (New Order), Matisyahu, and Emily Haines (Metric). Appropriately, Kirkland included Metric's Fantasies in his Top 10 list...as well as his own album.
