As the year comes to a close and news channels and print publications everywhere begin to compile the good, bad, and ugly events, styles, and figureheads of 2009, FILTER has decided to stick with the good and forget the rest. It's no doubt been a successful year for the electro-tinged four-piece, Athlete. The somewhat alternative, somewhat indie-pop outfit toured the United Kingdom during June and July to promote its fourth studio album, Black Swan, which was released in August. According to these melodic Londoners, the best of 2009 includes a mix of eccentric newcomers and indie-rock pioneers.
