Each day this month, we’ve been bringing you a list of top 10 albums of the year from guest artists—today is no different. As an extra bonus, check out FILTER's staff list and our Best Reviewed Albums of the Year.
Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel—the members of the French electronic duo Air—divulged to FILTER their top picks of 2009, which surprisingly includes a handful of guitar-driven musicians rather than Air’s contemporary electo-peers. Although these synth-loving musicians already have an established, synth-loving fan base, Air delivered yet another album this year (bringing the count to six) that enchanted both new and long-time listeners with its dream-like soundscape. Godin and Dunckel were also featured in FILTER’s Good Music Guide #29, where they discussed love, sex, and everything in-between with Brooklyn electronica outfit—and French wannabes— Au Revoir Simone.
