FILTER Magazine’s 2012 Culture Collide Kick-Off Recap w/ of Montreal, Penguin Prison & More

The third annual Culture Collide Festival has been officially kicked off in high spirits after a night full of drinks, dancing, music and friends at the illustrious TAIX.

Spotify's Big Green Bus posted up outside to give festival attendees a chance to take a photo in the photo booth, add a song to the Spotify playlist and get a drink courtesy of Bacardi before heading inside for some tunes.

Kicking off the night and getting everyone greased up for a night of dancing with a few beat heavy DJ sets were Panoptica Orchestra, DJ Supercrass and FILTER friends Brothers of the Well.

Switching back and forth from the Champagne Room and the Front Lounge, the night burned on with a lively and up close and personal DJ set by Penguin Prison, School of Seven Bells and Kevin Barnes from of Montreal.

Brining the epic rock all the way from the UK, The Chevin delivered their blend of operatic vocals and layered guitar lines to the champagne room after a special Spotify session earlier in the day.

Closing out the night was Red Bull Soundstage contest winner ProbCause who brought their own brand of hip-hop to TAIX, reminding everyone that good music will prevail.

We want to thank everyone who came out and kicked off five days of musical goodness and we can't wait to see you all again tomorrow! Make sure you're ready to rage with us!

FILTER has a limited amount of wristbands still available which you can purchase at TAIX starting at noon PST every day. We will also be posting the most up-to-date news on our website and the Culture Collide site
