FILTER Issue 40 Goes Sideways; Unveiling “Broken Social Scene: The Revolving Kingdom”

Take another look at that cover. Yes, you're seeing it correctly—we’ve gone horizontal for our 40th issue. We thought, upon this grand occasion, that—besides being the only way to fit all seven members of Broken Social Scene on the cover—it was fitting to offer something special for you to hold on to. FILTER’s updated new look—complete with full-page anniversary collages of eclectic FILTER shenanigans through the years, cover photos that almost were, and every review score ever printed in our pages—is specially-designed as a landscape to celebrate the places we've been, and to launch us off to the places we’re going.

The amazing content remains; we’re just looking at it from a new perspective. So, at 40, we’re not over the hill...we’re still climbing. Here’s to you for joining us along the way.

Take a gander at the contents of this landmark issue below, and hit your local newsstand May 28 for your own copy. Make sure you also join us at facebook.com/FILTERmagazine where we'll be taking a retrospective look at our past issues, sharing the photo outtakes that were this close to being cover shots.
