FILTER Good Gift Guide, Day 8: Dr. Martens Hooks You Up For The Holidays: Boots, Shirts, Bags

’Tis the holiday season and here at FILTER we believe in giving gifts that keep on giving. So in the spirit of the holidays, throughout December we’ll be posting our Good Gift Guide ideas for your picky loved ones.

There is something to say about a brand that makes both girls and guys look and feel like total badasses. The first Dr Martens boots were made in the late 1940s, their air-cushioned soles causing housewives to fall head over heels (sorry, the lame pun had to be made).

Still containing their classic soles, you've definitely seen these highly recognizable boots, often with yellow stitching and a black and yellow tag tickling the ankle.

One of our favorite pairs at the moment is the cherry red Spike Boot covered in shiny golden spikes, running $350 a pair. These spikes aren't that sharp, but let's just put it this way: don't use the threat "I'm going to kick your ass."

Another reason we love DM actually has nothing to do with shoes. They have some top-notch accessories and clothing as well, both of which will be greatly appreciated for the holidays. The Longsleeve Buttondown Shirt is the simplest way for guys to look comfortable yet smart this season. It's cotton, it's tartan, and there's even a boot insigne on the pocket, all for just $105

Last but not least we have the Large Leather Satchel, which is, well...large and leather, for the affordable price of $200. Colors come in black, cherry red, and green—yes, modeled after DM classic boot colors! Like wine, this bag only gets better with age, so uncork a bottle and celebrate your purchase!
