High off the energy of the previous day, the second day of Culture Collide 2013 brought a bigger crowd ready and willing to party longer, starting the weekend off right. With the addition of two more stages (including the awesome Ernie Ball outdoor stage), people were pumped for what the night had to offer!
Those who were ready to start the day off early headed to the last day of Culture Collide's Creative Summit panels. The Record Labels and Bands & Brands panels kept up a lively discussion about the future of music. Nick Thune and Rory Scovel helped everyone start their Friday buzz with laughs and booze at the Spirits of the World. It was a great hit that got the crowds eager to try new drinks for happy hour!
Early performances by pop-punk Cosmic Suckerpunch, crooner Kit Klane, Adi Ulmansky and the melodic indie SiMoN also were great starts to start the long night of amps, food and laughter ahead.
As night fell, fans split their precious Culture Collide time between the different stages hearing both new bands and old favorites. Many gathered to watch our favorite retro-inspired surf-pop sister-duo, Bleached, as they closed off the World Stage for the night after an amazing performance by music vets Medicine. Birth of Joy, won over new fans with their blend of psychedelic and blues rock in Taix's front lounge. Those that preferred more catchy, dance tracks experienced the spectacular set by Gemini Club over at the echoplex for the Red Bull Sound Select. The Echoplex lineup set the mood for other electronic acts people were eager for like UK’s one-two punch of Fuck Buttons and Duologue.
Ghost Wave, Jacco Gardner and Keaton Henson filled the Church with diehard fans who wouldn't let the pews hold their excitement.
Along with Miami Horror, Animato and The Deer Tracks, they were outstanding performances to close off the night and keep crowds going wild.
