CULTURE COLLIDE Pocket Guide: The Raveonettes
By Staff on August 23, 2013
As much as we love the sun, the surf and the sand here in Southern California, we cannot wait for autumn. Come October, we get to watch the leaves fall down while artists from around the world come together to play at this year’s Culture Collide!
To get you ready for what’s to come, we’ve gathered a bunch of details on the bands that will soon grace our stages, prepping you for when the world converges in LA. Remember: no passport needed!
The Raveonettes are made up of Sune Wagner and Sharin Foo and are coming all the way from Copenhagen. They’re an indie rock duo and they’re bringing their indie, new age harmonies all the way to Culture Collide.
The Raveonettes formed in 2001 and has been rocking ever since. They share some electronic similarities with Hot Chip and derive influence from The Velvet Underground. We love their dark lyrics, intricate and close harmonies and driving beats, and we’re sure you will too.
Check out their video for “Curse The Night," below!
