Bon Iver To Open Hometown Venue

Bon Iver figurehead Justin Vernon and his brother and tour manager are currently attempting to open a performance and cultural space in a building on South Barstow Street, in their hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The city's Redevelopment Authority has OK'ed their plan, an important step- according to Eau Claire blog VolumeOne.

Tentatively titled Union College, the venue will hold a live music space on its first floor. On the two floors above that, they hope to have audio and video production classes and workshops that are open to the public. The Vernons hope to lure touring indie bands to Eau Claire to play the venue.
