The 2010 Grammy nominations were announced Wednesday at Los Angeles' Club Nokia. Leading the pack this year is Beyonce, with 10 nominations, including album of the year and record of the year- both of which put her up against country music teen queen Taylor Swift, who earned 8 nominations. Other multi-nominated artists include Lady Gaga, Maxwell, Black Eyed Peas, and Kings of Leon.
Los Angeles's own Silversun Pickups earned a best new artist nom, along with MGMT and The Ting Tings. The only indie artists to be nominated, The Crystal Method will vie for their latest, Divided By Night to take home the best electronic/dance album. Twilight juggernaut New Moon's indie soundtrack is not surprisingly nominated for best compilation soundtrack, as is the Ennio Morricone-centric soundtrack for Quentin Tarantino's bloody spectacle Inglourious Basterds.
