After the release of their 2010 debut Max Baker, the Long Beach surf-punk trio Tijuana Panthers have finally announced their return for 2013, along with a music video (that would even make Quentin Tarantino proud) to back the release for their single “Tony’s Song," a track not so new to the FILTER offices. Their forthcoming sophomore full-length Semi-Sweet is set to release on May 28 via Innovative Leisure.
Primarily revolving around a duel reminiscent of 18th century Spanish chivalry, lead singer Chad Wachtel takes on the role of The Duke, the presumptuous knight suited for battle, alongside the rest of the band, who play The Duke’s comrades, in the forms of an inebriated priest and Quasimodo-type hunchback. The battle, which pans out more Monty Python than Zorro, lends just as much entertainment as it does confusion, and that’s always fun. Watch the video below and judge for yourself!
