Last month, we were stoked to share that one of our favorite Brooklyn-based outfits, The National, was gearing up to release their sixth studio album, Trouble Will Find Me, available May 21 through 4AD. Today, The National has released the first single off Trouble, dubbed "Demons"—surprisingly soothing despite its evil title.
Matt Berninger's beloved baritone is staunchly smooth, containing no rowdy outbursts that all National fans recall from throwback tracks like "Slipping Husband" and "Mr. November." Rather, "Demons" has both an orchestral and cinematic feel to it, which is paired quite nicely with the artistic video by Azar Kazimir / Michelberger Hotel.
Careful, "Demons" is going to stay on repeat until The National serves up their next single!
