The desire for escape is a powerful thing. So many artists have used that desire, as well as the excitement for the next unknown chapter, as their muse for creation. Nashville (via Greenville, LA, and NYC) chanteuse Nikki Lane is no different. Lane tells us that her album, Walk of Shame, serves as a goodbye message to the South: “We sat down and wanted to write something about leaving a place and being like, you'll be fine, I’m not coming back.”
Nikki can fit right in with any of Nashville's current best and brightest, all the while embracing the sound of Nashville vibrant past. With the video for Gone, Gone, Gone (see a theme here?), she's given us a preview of what to expect for her forthcoming album.
The Gone, Gone, Gone EP is out now, Walk of Shame is out 9/27, both via IAMSOUND
