All it takes is a change of guitar and new strings to make a song sound even more beautiful than before. That's exactly what happened when Mayday Parade stopped by the Ernie Ball showroom and got hooked up during their "Set Me Up" session. The result was a lovely acoustic version of "Hold Onto Me" off their latest album, Monsters in the Closet.
Thanks to our ongoing video series with the legendary string company, aptly titled "Set Me Up" Sessions--where we bring some awesome artists to chat about their favorite stringed instruments and play a little something for us--we got to listen to the band's stories about their old guitars, including one about a robbery. While they spoke about their band and the making of "Hold Onto Me," Ernie Ball set the band up with some great new strings and a polish for their beloved guitars, making them ready to play the stripped down version of their song.
See Mayday Parade in a new light above and keep a lookout for more "Set Me Up" sessions!
