The New York City indie quartet, Forest Fire, made a soothing return this year with their third album, Screens. Filled with effortless and dreamy songs, it only seemed fit to make a music video that embodied that lush feeling for their track, "Passengers". Take a look at how art comes to life in our premiere above!
The video features visual artist, Maurice Thomassen, painting a large canvas and drawing a portrait of a man. The video is filmed in black and white, focusing more on the technique and textures of painting than the colors. With each of the artist's strokes and Mark Thresher's whispering vocals driving the song, it all feels like a beautiful dream waiting to come to life.
Thresher sheds some light on the artistic collaboration: "We received a bizarre invitation to the studio of Dutch painter Maurice Thomassen. On a deadline to film a music video, we brought a camera & this is the result. "
