WATCH: Cold War Kids, “There Is A War” (FILTER Exclusive)
By Staff on January 26, 2012
Not so long ago, a few artists (who were also Leonard Cohen fans) got together in a studio space for some hangs - a Columbia Records affair. The series was dubbed as the Old Ideas with New Friends Leonard Cohen tribute, where the handful of artists recorded a cover of their favorite Leonard Cohen song. FILTER and Columbia have teamed up today to bring you a sneak peek into the series, featuring a Good Music Guide cover alum Cold War Kids. Watch the guys perform "There is A War" by Leonard Cohen putting their own soulful spin on this track, and adding in a quick intro explaining why they find the track "striking".
Keep an eye out for more clips launching soon in conjunction with Leonard’s new release, Old Ideas, and follow along with the series to celebrate 40 years of Leonard!
Old Ideas, Leonard’s new album with all new music is out January 31st via Columbia. For more on the Old Ideas with New Friends series, visit Leonard Cohen's site, Here.
