VIDEO Presents: Gardens & Villa, “Orange Blossom” (FILTER Premiere)

By Staff; photos by Describe The Fauna on December 19, 2011 Presents: Gardens & Villa, “Orange Blossom” (FILTER Premiere) is a group of filmmakers and fans who’ve set out to document the artists, musicians and characters who perform in and around Origami Vinyl in Echo Park, California. They've taken the initiative of capturing live, intimate sets in the record store's loft or taking bands out into Los Angeles—on rooftops, surrounding streets and beyond—for one-of-a-kind takeaway shows around the city. Needless to say, we're pretty big fans of what OnTheRecord's doing—and think you'll be, too.

This week...
 Gardens & Villa (again!)

OTRtv: Gardens & Villa - "Orange Blossom" from

Back in July, OnTheRecord gave us an exclusive performance of Santa Barbara's Gardens and Villa from Origami Vinyl's loft. Since then, the quartet has been on a whirlwind international tour, and the OTR gang caught up with them again, right off a plane from Europe, landing back in L.A. sunshine and just in time for the ridiculous Santa Ana windstorm that caused a bit of havoc around the city. Luckily for our purposes, the gusts blew out all the clouds for a clear, sunny day on the Santa Monica coast. The band played a stripped-down version "Orange Blossom," a sweet and entirely suggestive track from their self-titled full-length, which was released on Secretly Candian earlier this year. Describe the Fauna was also onhand to document the session in photographs, which you can see below.

The band has already announced a few early 2012 dates, and be sure to check out their Top 10 of 2011 for a nice wrap-up to the year.
