MP3: Radical Face Put Out “The Bastards: Volume One” EP

Indie pop-folk artist, Radical Face is the solo project of Ben Cooper (also of Electric President fame). The last we heard from Radical Face was back in March of 2007 with his debut release, "Ghost". Since then, Ben Cooper, the sole member of Radical Face, has spent 4 years milling over the concept and 15 months recording alone in a tool shed behind his mothers house in Jacksonville, Florida to bring us his sophomore record "The Family Tree: The Roots" out October 4 on Bear Machine.

In celebration of his upcoming release, Radical Face gives us a free prequel EP titled "The Bastards: Volume One". The EP features three poppy-folk tracks, clocking in with some with head swaying moments for fans and listeners. Ben Cooper gave us some thoughts on his upcoming and current work:

"I wrote a lot of music for "The Family Tree" project. I've been writing for it since 2007, just after my last solo record came out. When working on a record there are always songs that I finish and like, but they don't make sense on the actual record. They obstruct the flow of the album, or tip the overall balance in a way I'm not shooting for. But since they are still a part of the overall theme, I’m taking all these odd songs and releasing them as free EPs over the course of this project. I'm dubbing them 'The Bastards', and there will likely be four of them in total."

Also, most recently Ben lent his music to support the “It Gets BetterGoogle Chrome Campaign against bullying and the “Ride 4 Water” charity raising funds for clean drinking water in Africa. Keep an eye out for Radical Face who is doing select special plays in the US this year.  For more updates, visit the official site, or become a fan on Facebook.
