MP3: Ra Ra Riot Premieres Buoyant New Single “Beta Love”

A few weeks, ago we filled you in on Ra Ra Riot's plans for a new LP, and now the band has premiered "Beta Love," the title track off the upcoming album. The Syracuse University chamber pop quartet took up shop in Oxford, Mississippi’s Sweet Tea Studios to record Beta Love (Barsuk Records), and it looks like the warmer climate has made Ra Ra more buoyant than ever.

Wes Miles’ vocals exude optimism about the possibility of "robot love," while taking center stage on the track. However, some fans may be disappointed to hear the band dialing down its string arrangements in favor of well-polished synth lines that attempt to reinforce the record’s overarching technological themes.

Download “Beta Love” courtesy of NPR Music before the full album arrives January 22.
