MP3: Plateaus Bring On The Garage Surf Rock With “The District” (FILTER Premiere)
By Staff on November 14, 2012
Listening to "The District" is like attending a jam session in a band's garage—if that practice all of a sudden was visited by a huge truck that dumped sand at your feet, and then on the way out, the truck tears off the garage door to reveal a glittering blue-green ocean just a few steps away. There might be a few sand crabs playing bumper cars with your toes, but there won't be a single annoying seagull.
This track, crafted by the San Diego jangle pop/punk quartet, Plateaus, is edgy, reflective, and it isn't trying to be anything other than what it is: a calming and cool tune, chock-full of dexterous guitar playing and drumming.
"The District" is one of many rad tracks off of Plateaus' self-titled debut LP, released October 30 via Art Fag Recordings. Head over to iTunes to let Plateaus be the soundtrack to every activity you have planned for today.
