MP3: Lost Lander Portrays Fatal Faithfulness In “Until You Die”  (FILTER Premiere)

If you have yet to hear of Portland quartet, Lost Lander—and the debut album DRRT, released last January (Glad I Did Recordings)—you might have the urge to slap yourself in the face. Why? Because although this moniker is relatively new, the musicians involved are possibly some of your favorite indie rockers at the moment: songwriter/frontman/forester Matt Sheehy, and producer Brent Knopf (formerly of Menomena)—both of whom are affiliated with Ramona Falls

Below, we have a previously unreleased LL song for you this afternoon, created at the same time as the other DRRT tracks. "Until You Die" is essentially a chilling folk/rock version of the wedding vow "'til death to us part." The sentiment is just as sweet, but there is also a sharpness, instrumentals-wise, that perfectly captures the current November air.

The season's changing, so it's best to brave the cold with Lost Lander. If you're still feeling needy after the two-minute mark, just hit play again. We did.

Click the unpredictable video for "Cold Feet," the album opener off DRRT. This video, below, was filmed via tablet, laptop, cell phone, even off a TV—it's eclectic and truly entertaining from start to finish.
