Local Natives, Airplanes

The latest video from Local Natives, "Airplanes", can be defined by overwhelming layers of loneliness. As the camera scans the layout of an old house, everything remains untouched, in its place and perfectly preserved. As we pass stacks of neatly folded clothes, empty stairwells and shoes, framed photos of various band members become clear and quickly shift into dusty skeletons.
There is an obvious sentimentality with each featured item and in a bouquet of broken light bulbs, a light begins to shine. Suddenly photo albums begin to turn their own pages and little trinkets begin to shake. It all culminates into an explosion of household items through the band's portraits. Nostalgia overload.
Local Natives' debut, Gorilla Manor, drops February 16th via Frenchkiss.
