LISTEN: Veronica Falls’ Wistful “Teenage” From Forthcoming Sophomore LP

London’s plucky goth-pop quartet Veronica Falls has premiered the first single, “Teenage,” off of their upcoming sophomore album Waiting For Something To Happen via Pitchfork.

If this song is any indication, Veronica Falls has exchanged the tongue-in-cheek macabre references to ghostly romances and general misery that earned critical acclaim on their self-titled debut for a more hopeful, direct portrait of mid 20s aimlessness.

Waiting For Something To Happen intends to trace today’s post-modern coming of age story from innocent “Teenage” joy to more emotionally complicated adult relationships. In the words of frontwoman Roxanne Clifford, “We chose the album title because to me it captures what people our age are all going through.” Waiting For Something To Happen hits shelves February 13 through Slumberland/Bella Union.

See if Clifford’s sentiments resonate with you by giving the wistful “Teenage” a spin below via SoundCloud.
