LISTEN: Shark? Hates “California Grrls”

If you haven’t heard garage rockers Shark? yet, you’re missing out. These four dudes from Brooklyn just released “California Grrls,” their new single due out April 2 via Old Flame Records, and it makes us very excited for their upcoming album Savior, which is expected to drop sometime this summer.

The lo-fi post punk outfit’s “California Grrls” drips with animosity towards, you guessed it, California girls. Against aggressive guitar riffs and a booming drum, frontman Kevin Diamond sings in a brusque tone, “Don’t care about the rest of the world/I hate California girls.” Spoken like a true New Yorker? Or The Magnetic Fields? You can listen to the single below, and order a limited edition cassette with an edit of “California Grrls” backed with non-album track “Roadrunner Roadrunner” on the flip side here.

Shark? tour dates:

23 Brooklyn, NY - Silent Barn w/Eula

12 Allston, MA - O'Briens Pub
13 Providence, RI - TBA

16 Brooklyn, NY - Death By Audio
