LISTEN: Philistines Prefer Distractions In “Complications” (FILTER Premiere)

Despite the Bay Area/Chicago quartet's seemingly shallow moniker, Philistines are a bunch of guys who clearly do their fair share of analyzing, as heard in the well-executed, beautifully harmonized rock anthem "Complications."

Between the catchy guitar riffs, pounding drums, and incessant "ba da ba da"s, this two-and-a-half minute '90s-esque track contains a somewhat sour realization: "we all know that solitude's a bore." On that note, hit play, quick! Peace and quiet's for losers. Oh, don't worry. More songs are on the way. Therewolves!—Philistine's debut album recorded at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco—comes out October 16.
